The Advanced Zip Library has a wide variety of functionailty available in all its different versions
(VBA, VB5, VB6, VB.NET 2003, VB.NET 2005, VB.NET 2008). Here is a list of functionality that comes with the
AZL library:

 Feature |
Open ZIP archives and get a list of files within them... along with each file's original
name, path, size, modified date, original file size, compressed file size, compression
ratio, and CRC. The "Info_FileList" function is used to do this.
Add files to ZIP archives using the "ZIP_Zip" function, delete files from ZIP
archives using the "ZIP_DeleteFilesFromZip" function, and extract files from ZIP
archives using the "ZIP_Unzip" function. All of these file operations can be
done using one or more literal file names, or wild card expressions... which makes things
MUCH easier to work with.
Get and set the "comments" for a ZIP archive file using the
"Info_CommentsGet" and "Info_CommentsSet" functions.
You can only add files to a ZIP archive located on hard drive (either a local physical
hard drive, or network shared drive). But you have the choice of extracting files to
a hard drive (local or network), or directly to memory. You can extract a file
to a byte array which can be streamed over the internet or saved directly to a database.
In fact, the HTML help file has sample code for the "ZIP_UnzipToMemoryEx"
function that illustrates how to extract a file from a ZIP archive and stream it over the
internet using "ASP Classic". And if you're using the .NET 2003 or .NET 2005
version, there's a special function that allows you to extract a file directly to a
System.IO.Stream object (or any object that is derived from it).
You can inspect a ZIP archive to see if it is valid using the "Info_IsZipFileValid"
function, and you can attempt to repair ZIP archives that may be damaged or corrupted using the
"ZIP_RepairZipFile" function.
